The last official servers, for Final Fantasy XI, were shut down on March 31st 2016. I’m not entirely sure, and it may well prove to be another false dawn that, like HD rumble on the Switch, is a pleasant addition that soon fades into the background. Astro and his crew lead you on a magical introduction through your PlayStation 5 in this fun platformer that comes pre-loaded on your console.
After the level starts, proceed ahead until you reach a wire sticking out from the ground. When you get to the very top, look in the background to spot two bots playing “Bot Fighter”. This is a reference to Street Fighter, Capcom’s famous fighting game franchise that debuted in 1987. While the original Street Fighter never came to PS1, Street Fighter II and Super Street Fighter did.
In the final shaded section of the level with the long wooden bridge, look down on the left-hand wall to see a Bot on a bike escaping a swarm of Bots. The Bots chasing the bike refer to the huge swarms of zombies featured in the game. Nearby the Horizon easter egg is an island with a bot making a blocky T.

And yet, even when Astro is pulling off his most basic moves in familiar environments, this game feels revelatory. The PS5’s new controller combines a built-in speaker with vibrating haptics to make interacting with the world feel like it’s literally happening in your hand. Astro running across a sandy beach sounds and feels completely different than running on a fluffy cloud, for example. It is worth noting that the game is maintained in a very colorful artistic style, which may appeal to both older and younger players. Where To Find The Astro’s Playroom Special Bots Including No Escape!
Jump and hold over top of it to ignite it, and when it explodes it reveals this puzzle piece underneath. Puzzle Piece 3/4– At the next checkpoint there are some spots you can bounce on to climb up the platforms. Instead of going up, bounce to the opposite side to find this puzzle piece underneath the platform. Puzzle Piece 2/4 – Just after the next checkpoint, there are a bunch of explosive enemies on the ground you can light using your ship thrusters. When they explode they destroy the ground, revealing an area with this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Directly to the left of the first checkpoint there is a hole you can drop down with a bunch of coins and this puzzle piece in the middle.
If you happen to be one of the lucky few with a PlayStation 5 this holiday season, there aren’t going to be a ton of games that really show off all the fancy features of this giant white tower in your house. Lucky for you, Astro’s Playroom is one of the best showpieces of the PS5, setting a new standard for what this next generation is really capable of. In one level, I run Astro through a rainstorm, and an automatic umbrella pops up out of his head. Through the controller, I can feel raindrops pitter-pattering as the sound of the storm emanates from within. When Astro walks under an overhang, the rain vibrations stop, but the sound of the rain keeps going inside the controller. Astro’s Playroom has a new tool in that regard, of course, with the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller and its haptic feedback.
It uses planar magnetic driver tech to deliver higher-quality sound compared to older earbuds. The case also allows you to charge the earbuds, which is what the light bar on the bottom of it is for. The “Slim” model of the PlayStation 5 is 30% smaller than the launch model and replaces the front USB “Standard-A” port with a second “Type-C” port. Perhaps the most significant adjustment is that the Digital Edition could be upgraded with a disc drive, which the launch model was unable to do.
